The project Children's Rights Behind Bars will culminate in an European Final Conference to be held in the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels (Belgium) on the 15 February 2016. This conference will be an opportunity to present, promote and disseminate the first Practical Guide on monitoring places of deprivation of liberty for children in Europe; to raise awareness on the importance of monitoring these places, of practices and methods of adapted monitoring, of cooperation between monitoring mechanisms and of international and regional standards; promote global study on deprivation of liberty of children ordered by the General Assembly of the United Nations that will start soon. This conference will gather many professionals from all EU member States, Council of Europe and other countries of the world specialised in child rights, monitoring and deprivation of liberty.
