Stakeholders

The CRBB 2.0 project is coordinated by Defence for Children International - Belgium and implemented in partnership with the Howard League for Penal Reform in UK, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in Poland, Defence for Children International - Italy and the Juvenile Justice Department of the Ministry of Justice in Italy. Defence for Children International - World Service and the Council of Europe are also partners on the disseminiation of the project.

The CRBB 1.0 project  benefited from the knowledge and expertise of 11 European public figures specialized in the fields of child rights, monitoring, deprivation of liberty of children and juvenile justice. This project is implemented in collaboration with 16 European and International organizations that work towards children's rights. The main objective of this joint effort is to improve respect for the rights of children deprived of their liberty and to improve the monitoring of places where children are deprived of their liberty in order to ensure that their rights, needs and dignity are respected as well as guaranteeing the protection of their fundamental rights.

About the project

"Children's Rights Behind Bars" aims at improving the implementation of international juvenile justice standards to protect the rights and needs of children deprived of their liberty.
