Study Day - Improving the monitoring of places where children are deprived of their liberty in Belgium

May 8, 2015, DCI-Belgium organized, in partnership with the Délégué Général aux droits de l’enfant – the KinderrechtenCommissariaat – the Vrij Universiteit Brussel – the Interdisciplinary Centre for Children's Rights – the National Commission on the Rights of the child - a study day dedicated to improving the monitoring of places where children are deprived of their liberty.

This day was intended to present the research report produced by DCI-Belgium in the framework of the project Children's Rights Behind Bars, to discuss the findings and recommendations of the latter in order to strengthen monitoring mechanisms in Belgium (and encourage ratification by Belgium of the OPCAT).
